Anything Goes - Weeks #726-727

It's a treat to have you visit us, and we look forward to seeing what you're creating. We hope that you'll take a moment to read our brief devotional, take a peek at the inspiration, and visit our awesome new sponsor to say hello, thanks, and to check out their amazing products. Our scripture of focus for this lovely piece of word art is Psalm 95:2-3 and it says, "Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto Him with psalms. For the LORD is a great God, and a great king above all gods". As Thanksgiving approaches, we're all reminded of all God has given to each of us and how thankful we should be for it all. This verse reminds us that we are to "come before His presence with thanksgiving"...not just at this particular time of year, but always. We make joyful noises to Him (praises, shouts of thanks, singing, etc.) because we love Him and want to give Him praise. The verse reminds us also of the reason WHY we (should) do this. It's because "He is a great God and a great king above all gods". It's because He alone is God. He alone deserves our honor and our praise. Let's purpose in our hearts to give Him praise, thanks and honor always. He deserves it, and it will bless us (and Him) in doing it.

As always, you are welcome to save the word art to your computer; but you are never required to use it in order to play along or to win in our challenges. Anything Goes - Weeks #724-725

WELCOME! We're so glad you're here with us again. I do apologize for the super late start this time. I'm just going to be honest with you all in saying that I'm a bit stressed. To make a long story short, my parents are aging (87 and 92) and they're struggling a bit. I just got back from visiting them (NV to MN) and my hubby is there now. Someone will have to be there with them from now on, I'm guessing. Anyway, things have been stressful, and your prayers are always greatly appreciated. Nonetheless, I do apologize for another late start. It seems to be happening a lot, and sadly, may continue. God is SO GOOD and I trust that He will give me the strength and ability to get it all accomplished with grace. Praise God! Now......let the FUN begin.

What a darling font used to give us our word art which comes from 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17 says, "Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing". These words have become such a blessing and encouragement to me over the years as I've discovered what it feels like to "pray without ceasing". It's a concept I've undertaken in my daily life that's blessed me tremendously. Now, please know first that I'm not proclaiming to be some kind of super-Christian by any means. All it means is that I've learned to place myself in an ongoing conversation with God where I'm praying all day and all night. I simply keep talking to Him. And unlike my husband, He won't fall asleep on me....He'll listen all night. And not only does God LISTEN to our prayers, but He also HEARS and ANSWERS them. It's easy to moan, whine and complain. It's so much better and so much more effective, however, to PRAY instead. Praying to God is a gift and a privilege, and we can best utilize this tremendous gift by staying in a spirit of prayer all the time. So, you're not literally praying (knees bent, hands folded, head bowed, etc.) without stopping; but you're remaining in a spirit of prayer and communication with God throughout the day 24/7. I hope that makes sense to anyone who isn't familiar with this verse. It's such a BLESSING to talk with God. It will really bless you, too. God loves to hear from us. Praying without ceasing.

Weeks #722-723 - Anything Goes

Welcome back by, everyone. We're getting a very late start this week, indeed. My Mom is struggling right now, so I'm visiting my parents in Minnesota. The cooler temperatures are a welcome change, but I'm incredibly busy right now as I try to coordinate care for Mom (currently hospitalized and coming home soon we hope) and for Dad as they age and struggle with various tasks throughout the day. I praise God that I'm able to be here with them during this time of change. We know that God is always in complete control, and that He will see them through this valley. He always gives us the strength we need to do the work He sets before us.

The scripture for the new word art is Zephaniah 3:17 and it says, "The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; He will save, He will rejoice over thee with joy; He will rest in His love, He will joy over thee with singing". These verses were written by the Prophet, Zephania, to encourage the people of Judah. As he continues to preach to the people and to confidently remind them that God is with them, and that He is there to forgive the sins of their past and bless them as they move forward trusting God and leaning on His wonderful promises. This message is just as true today as it was the day Zephaniah preached it to the people of Judah. God wants to forgive your past (no matter what it is), He wants to be close to you, and God wants to bless you and sing over with you joy. Let these words of God, and ALL of God's Holy Word BLESS your life as you dig in and read verses like this one that can still encourage us and point us to God today. God wants to "save you, to rejoice with you in joy, to give you rest in His great love, and to joy over you with singing". Let God into your heart today and experience what He can do to change and bless your life.
